I just love cute and extremely odd pairings. Couples composed of one person who is the high and mighty, popular, everyone-is-in-love-with-him type of guy and an atypical girl who is completely his polar opposite. I especially love that Nodame harbors this gigantic crush that she's not afraid to express. Her affection is so open and so true. What my inner fangirl squees the most about is Chiaki's gradual acceptance of Nodame. He allows her into his life. She's privy to everything that he is, including his fears. He's so unwilling to let anyone into his life, yet Nodame somehow found a way in (literally). I know that she's his "hentai" neighbor, but that's trivial. I love the proximity. They're constantly together and it usually leads to hilarious scenes.

Chiaki can of course just blow her off and at times he does, but she's somehow now on his "I worry about her list." Nodame, of course is true til the end. She's willing to let him go so that he can share his talent with the whole world. Her crush (semi-obsession) with Chiaki and his defiance but gradual acceptance of her is fun to watch. Although he seems to be fighting his feelings, he can't help but be moved by Nodame's influence and presence. They're a pairing that although quite comical, weird and all around fictional, makes the fangirl in me squee. After all the episodes I'm always left with a smile and a desire to rewatch their scenes over and over. This pairing truly opened up my eyes to why I use to love classical music. It's a series and pairing that'll forever be one of my top favorites.

• Nodame trying to steal a kiss from Chiaki after he becomes the unexpected conductor for S-Oke.
• Chiaki letting Nodame kiss him on the cheek as he pretends to sleep.
• Chiaki offering his arm as Nodame's "ude makura" arm pillow to keep her from going with Milhe.
• Chiaki cleaning Nodame's room, cooking for her and also washing her hair.
• Nodame creating a screensaver for Chiaki with "I love you" text all over.
• Chiaki giving Nodame a piggy back ride, since she's sick.
• When Chiaki follows Nodame home to bring her back to school.
• Chiaki hugging Nodame from behind, all the while Nodame thinking that he was on his way to Europe.
• The whole "kotatsu" scene with Mine, Masumi, Nodame and Chiaki.
• Chiaki inviting Nodame to go to Europe with him, both times.
• Nodame hypnotizing Chiaki so that he can get rid of his fears and also a bonus to get her lots and lots of crab from Hokaido.
• Chiaki trusting Nodame enough that he unknowingly lets her hypnotize him, and also gets her lots and lots of crab.
• Chiaki allowing Nodame to get close to him.
• Nodame always supporting Chiaki, especially when his insecurities are evident.
• Nodame putting Chiaki in place, when he takes her for granted.

• Chiaki inviting Nodame to go with him, before her school starts.
• Nodame ending up right next door to Chiaki again.
• Nodame asking Chiaki about which bra to get, and Chiaki seeing that it's "D" cup.
• The hug after Chiaki wins the conductor competition.
• The bridge scene where the two have it all out.
• Chiaki buying Nodame a heart shaped necklace.
• Chiaki drawing on Nodame's face after his debut since she was the first to get his autograph.
• Chiaki finally admitting that he wants to be with Nodame, and decides to abandon all doubts and join her in Hentai Land.
